Profile: Alex Kieft

Chief Media Architect, Associate Producer

As Chief Media Architect at DigiNovations, Alex Kieft designs and implements internet TV solutions for our clients.  He is an accomplished Flash, Flex, and Java programmer, and is experienced at building interactive video players and applications on the Brightcove and PermissionTV video platforms.

 

Prior to joining DigiNovations in June 2008, Alex worked as a film and computer instructor at Concord Academy, where he managed the school’s Media Lab. During the summers, he taught video production courses at the Middlesex School Summer Arts program and produced their annual Video Yearbook. Alex has also served as Director of Photography on several short films, including The Roofer, an official selection at the 2009 Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.

 

Alex has been designing websites for more than ten years and recently began developing rich internet applications centered around online video. In 2007, he launched Vidista, a web interface for storing, organizing, and sharing YouTube videos. Before that, he created the Engio Media Network, a search engine for independent online films.

 

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College, where he studied French Literature and Film and Media Studies. Alex has also traveled twice to Senegal, West Africa, to research the region’s emerging Francophone film industry.
