Bill AydelottBill Aydelott is a producer/director of television commercials with 30 years of experience, and a particular specialty in helping people come across well on camera – whether it be professional/celebrity talent or “just regular folks.” He has produced and directed national award-winning PSA’s for The Special Olympics and others, as well as prominent spots for many of the nation’s major market broadcasters, from Discovery Channel to WABC/New York, WGN/Chicago and KABC/Los Angeles (and every major Canadian city).
An accomplished cinematographer with a strong visual sense, Bill began his career as a daredevil skiing cameraman for ski-film mogul Warren Miller, and went on to direct many longer format corporate productions. A four-time Emmy winner, his productions have won several Gold Awards from the New York and Chicago Festivals, as well as Best Director honors from The New England Broadcasting Association.
He collaborated with John Sayles on the noted writer/director’s first independent feature, The Return of the Secaucus Seven, serving as both co-producer and cameraman, and has regularly been called upon by network television’s top episodic producers to stage and shoot extensive location sequences for many prominent TV series including: Cheers, St. Elsewhere, Wings, Newhart, Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Public, The Gilmore Girls, Boston Legal, Becker, The Unit, Bones and Fringe.
Bill currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Production Coalition, and is a past board member of the New England Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and New England Broadcasting Association.
He graduated from Dartmouth in 1972 as one of 12 Senior Fellows and the college’s first Special Major in Film Theory and Production.
