With an 11-person team, we’re small enough to be nimble, with each member of our team skilled at more than one aspect of visual storytelling, whether filming, editing, photography, or animation. We're also large enough to field multiple video production and photography teams, and to complete virtually all of our work in-house, without the inconsistency that a dependence on subcontractors can bring.
We've been around since 2001, and we’ve won many, many awards (over 45 Telly Awards, for example). We’re proud of our awards, and believe they’re a good indication of consistent excellence.
We've been around long enough to know that to tell our clients’ stories, we have to understand those stories first. Luckily, we’re curious people. We want to know why you're unique, and how your product works, and why your customers buy from you, and what problems you solve.
We’re more than just a Boston video production company. Our live event coverage, animation work, streaming video services, and photography make us a leader in fully realized media collaboration for small to large companies, nonprofits, and academic institutions.
Meet Our Team
Whit is the studio’s President, Executive Producer, and Creative Officer. He is an award-winning filmmaker who loves having a camera in his hands as much as he values creative problem-solving. From his past work as an equity actor, theatrical director and counselor of secondary school students, as well as his distillation of stories through film and photography, Whit continues to prize authentic narratives and collaborations that lead to compelling stories. Whit is a graduate of Amherst College and received an MFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University and enjoys running, biking, skiing and being out on, in or simply by, the water.
Michael is the founder and CEO of the company, which celebrates its 14th year of existence. For the past 27 years, Michael has been on the vanguard of connecting people and technology. A former media executive and prominent architect in the internet content revolution, Michael is a nationally recognized business strategist, technology executive, and Emmy-winning creative talent. He founded and led NewsEdge Corporation, Ziff/Davis Interactive (ZDNet) and PC/Computing. Michael also was VP of Marketing and Business Development at Lotus Development Corp and a VP and Partner at Bain and Company. Following his degrees at Harvard and Harvard Business School, Michael worked for CBS News and was an Emmy award winning reporter for WGBH-TV.
Chris is known as the “rock” of the office. He is unflappable, calm and respected in every situation. His eye and technical skills as the company’s Director of Photography are outstanding. As a producer, Chris’s ability to listen to clients and generate creative scenarios is matched only by his organizational and executive skillset. Chris is a superb producer whose work always makes a meaningful, positive impact upon his clients’ audiences. Father to the company mascot, "Franklin the French”, Chris is a graduate of Fitchburg State College from which he received a BS in Communications Media with a concentration in Film and Video production.
James is an award-winning producer and master storyteller with over two decades of international video and film production experience. James started his career helping to craft documentaries for such clients as PBS and National Geographic. His films eventually garnered over twenty-five awards, including a Peabody, two National Emmys and a CINE Masters Series award. Most recently, James worked for education startup edX.org as a video producer and online course creator. James graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College with a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies. He has an amazing wife, three children, two dogs, and a full & happy life.
Matt is a senior editor and DigiNovations’ resident Animation and Motion Graphics guru. Matt specializes in 2-D and 3-D, as well as creating the original artwork needed for the customized approach to all our work. Matt also adds creative touches and polish to our most complex visual projects. Matt is a graduate of Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, where he earned his BFA in Film.
Marnie is DigiNovations’ Accountant and Business Manager. She genuinely loves numbers, keeps all of Digi’s digits organized and in line. Practically speaking, Marnie handles all accounts receivable and accounts payable. Any questions about a line item or invoice? You know who to contact. Marnie received a BBA in Accounting from University of Massachusetts/Amherst.
As a senior editor with a background in design, Julianne brings great visual sophistication to all her projects. Her style and aesthetic have elevated hundreds of Digi productions as well as the company website. Her interest in working behind the camera also informs and enhances her editorial perspective. Julianne is a graduate of Merrimack College with a degree in digital media.
Ben DonahueBen is one of our videographer / editors. He brings experience from independent productions, videography assignments, and as a student filmmaker in North Carolina. Ben is a passionate learner and collaborator, always eager to expand his production repertoire. His work was featured on Popular Photography’s website, and he received a BA in Media Arts and Entertainment from Elon University.
As a cinematographer and photographer, Nicole is constantly striving for perfection. Her determination and dedication to her field lead her to work as a video editor and photographer at the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. Her passion for storytelling shows in her previous work, including music videos, live action roleplaying videos, and short dramatic works. Nicole graduated from Keene State with a BA in film production. Nicole's goal is to bring people together through her images and leave her viewers with a lasting sense of pride, compassion and community. In her downtime, Nicole can be found forging medieval armor, cuddling her cats, and adventuring across the U.S.
As Production Manager and Associate Director, Josh strives to elevate the quality, humanity and honesty of every film he works on. Josh grew up in the Midwest and earned a BA in Video Production from Ball State University. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked for a variety of TV and film companies including MTV, Warner Brothers, Clear Channel, and Disney. Josh enjoyed LA’s beautiful beaches, In-N-Out Burger, and lots & lots of traffic for 6 years. Josh then moved to the great city of Boston where he worked in Corporate and Educational video production, writing, shooting and editing. In his spare time, Josh loves performing improv and discussing football, philosophy, theology, satire, and film while drinking mediocre beer.
